It is only approx. 200 m from the village centre and approx. 400 m from the shopping centre.Oberhof is a national centre for winter sports with an indoor ski slope and bobsleigh run that are open all year round. There is also a piste for downhill skiing.Oberhof is located in the centre of the Thuringian Forest with many places of interest in the surrounding area, such as the cities of Erfurt, Eisenach, Weimar, Gotha, Schmalkalden, Mühlhausen etc.
